Our beloved Dory from ‘Finding Nemo’ is swimming back into our hearts with Disney Pixar’s ‘Finding Dory.’  We pick up a year after Dory’s first adventure; when Dory suddenly has a memory of her parents, she recruits Marlin and Nemo.  On their adventure, Dory is separated from her companions and ends up in California’s prestigious Marine Life Institute (MLI), a rehabilitation center and aquarium, where she meets a whole new group of characters to help her find them.

‘Finding Nemo’ is one of my favorite Disney/Pixar movies because Marlin reminds me of my dad.  In this new film, audiences will gain a deeper connection with Dory as they follow her journey on the big screen.  Since there are three new characters being introduced in the film, I thought it was only appropriate to provide you with a few fun facts about the cast. SEE ALSO: DON’T MISS PIXAR NEW SHORT “PIPER”

Super Fan – Hayden Rolence (voice of “Nemo”) was a big fan of ‘Finding Nemo’ before taking on the voice of “Nemo”.nemo finding dory
” I always loved Nemo’s character but I never thought I would have an opportunity actually to play him.  I was a little nervous because I was taking over an existing character that everyone loves.” ~Hayden Rolence

Be Yourself -Ty Burrell (voice of “Bailey”) worked hard to give his character a unique voice.  However, in the end, filmmakers just wanted him to use his own voice.baily finding dory

“Character looked kind of congested to me so I came up with a voice of a whale with a cold and Andrew Stanton (Director of ‘Finding Dory’) very politely told me that’s great, now lets do the whole film in your voice.” ~ Ty Burrell

On a Mission – There have been light rumors floating around about Ellen DeGeneres (voice of “Dory”) role in making a sequel to ‘Finding Nemo’ and they are somewhat true. SEE ALSO: 5 FUN FACTS ABOUT THE MAKING OF ‘FINDING DORY’

“‘Finding Nemo’ was an Iconic film.  It won an Academy Award.  I played a small role in the film, so I was not campaigning to have a sequel for Dory.  I was just campaigning to have a sequel for a great movie. Then when it didn’t happen for the first 5 or 6 years, it seemed like it was never going to happen so I would joke about it on the show.  Then the joke became a reality and became about Dory’s Journey.” ~ Ellen DeGeneres

Understanding Whales – Although you will not find the beautiful Kaitlin Olson (voice of “Destiny”) whale watching on her free time. She did do a little research in order to prepare for her role.

Blooming Relationship – What did Ed O’Neill (voice of Hank) like most about his role as Hank the septopus?  SEE ALSO: MEET HANK FROM DISNEY•PIXAR’S FINDING DORY
