Want to wow your child with the most delightful and fun birthday party they’ve ever had? Then keep reading for my suggestions below.

Venue

Before you can organise anything else to do with your child’s birthday party you’ll need to decide on a venue. Remember celebrating at your house is perfectly fine and it can save you plenty of money too. However, if you want things to be super fun for the birthday child (and easier for you when it comes to cleaning up) you can hire a venue. Indeed, many different places offer children birthday parties, and oftentimes food and entertainment are thrown in.

For example, if there is a soft play near you, you may find that they offer parties, and the entertainment will be using all the equipment that they provide.

Invite guests early and insist on RSVPs

There is no party without guests and that means you need to get your invites out nice and easily so people have enough time in their calendars to accept. Remember many busy families organise their schedules up to two months in advance, and around holiday times it can get booked up even faster than that!

It’s also a good idea to insist on RSVPs. This is because it will reassure you that people genuinely are coming, and it will help them keep that commitment too. After all, we have all heard about those unlucky kids’ parties where no one shows up and the poor little one is left devastated! You can get them to reply by text or email as that’s easier. Although in the old days invites used to have RSVP slips on the bottom and kids would give them to the birthday boy or girl at school!

Decorations

No matter where you decide to host your party, you’ll want to decorate to make it as fun and as special as possible. It’s worth putting in some thought here as using a theme for decoration can work very well. You just have to make sure it’s one that the birthday child is going to love.

For example, for younger kids favorite games like Minecraft and movies like Inside Out can be a great party and decoration theme. Pirates and princesses are also popular choices for the younger ones, especially if they allow the little ones to dress up.

Yet for an older kid, you may want to go for a more understated theme, such as their favorite color, or an interest of theirs. You should still be able to get decorations that match this theme though, and it will make choosing them so much easier.

Food

There are two ways you can approach putting on food for the most fun kids’ birthday party ever. The first is making a list of all their favorite party food items, and making these, serving them buffet style. Usually, this includes some mix of cake, ice cream, chips, and sodas.

Another option that can be even easier is to carry out pizza from your local restaurant. It couldn’t be easier to find either as all you need to do is type carryout near me into Google search and you will be presented with all the local restaurants that provide this service. Your kid and their guests will love the extra special treat of getting take-out pizza too, and there’ll be practically nothing for you to tidy away once the party is done.

Entertainment

No awesome kids’ party is complete without some entertainment, and there are so many options for you to choose from. Popular choices these days include hired entertainers who dress up like Disney princesses who will come and greet your child and the kids at your party. A petting zoo is also a fun entertainment idea, as the kids will get to meet all sorts of cute animals. Just be sure you have the room for it. Simpler yet still super fun party entertainment ideas include team games like baseball or cooking and craft activities like cookie decorating.

Music

Every kid’s party needs music, as it not only provides atmosphere but gives the little ones the perfect excuse to dance and have a good time. It’s wise to recognize here, however, that a parent’s idea of the perfect party music may differ widely from what your kids want.

That is why it’s best to create a party playlist together with your child. Then you can be sure they get to listen to all their favorite songs, and you can check that they are kid-appropriate too!
