Inspired by the popular mobile game Angry Birds comes Sony Pictures Animations new film The Angry Birds Movie 2. The movie stars Jason Sudekis as Red, Leslie Jones as Zeta, Josh Gad as Chuck, and Rachel Bloom as Silver. Like most of the things we cover, Angry Birds 2 is a great viewing option for you and the little ones. In Angry Birds 2, the birds and pigs must band together to combat a new threat, the eagles, who live on a separate island equipped with a volcano that fires ice meteors.
Like I mentioned above, Angry Birds 2 is a good movie to bring the little ones to. While most animations of its caliber would resort to cheap fart and poop jokes to please the younger audience, Angry Birds 2 does a good job at telling actual jokes the kids will love and adults will get a chuckle out of. The movie does make a lot of its jokes through referencing different popular pop culture songs, and while it was entertaining at times, I wish the creative process focused more on the Looney Tunes style of comedy because that’s where the movie shines the brightest. The voice work of Jason Sudekis, Josh Gad, and Danny McBride contribute greatly to the entertainment aspect of the film as their chemistry is great.
As for the plotline of the film, Angry Birds 2 has a major focus on putting differences aside to reach a common goal. There is a little side-story about three chicks trying to get their hatchlings back throughout the movie that reminds me of an animated short, I know kids will love it. A couple of minor twists and turns in the plotline will wow the younger audience while keeping the adults interested. I think that overall, Angry Birds 2 is a good movie for a family that’s just trying to have a little bit of fun on a Friday night when the weekend is ahead of them and they just want to watch an uplifting film where they don’t have to worry about anything.
So there you have it guys, Angry Birds 2 is out now! If you’re looking for a fun movie to watch this weekend with the little ones, then consider Angry Birds 2!
Until Next Time
