This week starts out like normal doctor’s appointments and practice. This weekend the team has Regional All Stars tournament. The drive is about 2 hours. We start on Friday night, it doesn’t look like it is going to rain at least until it started pouring down. We stand under the canopy for 20 minutes waiting on the rain to let up and it finally does. It takes another 30 minutes for the umpires to figure out if they are going to let the game continue or reschedule it. They decided we could finish our last two innings before the game on Saturday.
We wake up Saturday morning and I am already getting ready for the drive to the baseball games. Brayden finds Ghostbusters on TV and sits in the middle of the floor watching it. Alysin of course is right beside her brother. We get the cooler loaded with Gatorade, snacks, and of course sun drop. I have to hunt down Brayden’s frog togs. My husband is putting everything in the Van cooler, stroller, bat bag, toys for Alysin, and everything else except the kitchen sink.
The ride is not bad. Alysin is fast asleep and Brayden is relaxing. We get there and find out that if they lose the first game, that they only had 2 innings left to finish then we won’t play again until Sunday. No pressure on the boys but would have stunk if we drove 2 hours to play 2 innings and go home. Limestone X-treme came through and won. They also won the next game after that. I am so proud of those boys. We get home around midnight and get the kids into bed. I think I fall asleep before my head lands on the pillow.
We relax and enjoy our Sunday off. Today is Father’s Day and Alysin’s birthday. So we cook and enjoy a quiet family dinner and watch Alysin dig into her cupcake. It is days like today that make me cherish every single moment with my family.
Today Brayden goes to day camp for church. He wakes up early and we get him to camp on time. I have to pick him up early because we have to go back the game today. Of course I am rushed to get everything done and get Brayden from camp and meet my husband so we don’t have to drive 2 vehicles. Brayden and Alysin are both asleep before we get on the road good.
Limestone X-treme lost both games. It wasn’t from lack of trying; they played some really great teams today and tried their hardest. Brayden and all the boys are upset because they lost. The coaches cheer them up and praised them for the effort that they all put forth and tried.
I am so proud of Brayden as I always am. He tried and did the best that he could. I have a very crazy and sometimes hectic life, but I love every minute of it.
