I am proud to report that Brayden’s baseball team placed 3rd in the county tournaments on Saturday and we start All Star practice Monday. We are enjoying our Sunday being lazy, because until All Stars is over we are going to be super busy. It’s Monday and tonight is the first night of practice for All Stars. I know Brayden will do great. As a mom I am very nervous for him. This is his first year he has played baseball and he got chosen WOW. Brayden was barely able to catch a ball at the start of the season and look at him now :). He does good catching Monday, he didn’t miss a single ball. His hitting could have been better, but he has a new coach pitching to him. Tuesday is a repeat of Mondays’ practice again, except Brayden hits the ball a lot better. Wednesday is kinda slow except Brayden’s dad is online searching for Brayden a new bat. It’s Thursday and he is patiently waiting for UPS to deliver his bat. We have practice again tonight. We still aren’t quite sure what position he will play, but I’m sure wherever they put him, he will do the best that he can. They have a tournament to play in this weekend. All the kids are excited, they will be playing at a college and they all think they are big league now. This weekend will be jammed pack and we will all be super busy. We have to go get new cleats tomorrow, order Alysin’s birthday cake, and get all her supplies for her birthday.Tournaments all weekend long and then my daughter will be having her first birthday party on Sunday. I still have to order our parents shirts and Alysin’s “little sister” shirt for the team. I have to say that I have been impressed with Brayden’s commitment to baseball so far. I am so excited about our first weekend as an All Star team and know that each and every one of those boys are so excited to be given this opportunity. Brayden is excited to start playing in the tournaments.
I don’t want anyone to think that we push Brayden to do this. This is solely his choice. We want him to stay active in sports and he chooses the ones he wants to play. As long as he keeps good grades in school, We will let him play as long as he wants to. I wouldn’t change one single thing about my busy life. I enjoy it and as I have said before. Brayden has made us so proud with his commitment and sticking with it through the good and the bad. He has been trampled on, ran over, hit with a line drive straight in his chest and he always got up. He never gave up, even when the going got tough. For that alone I am very proud of him. Win or lose in the tournaments this weekend Brayden has come along way and has never given up .
