Disney’s upcoming movie ‘Zootopia’, will immerse you in the world of imagination. This spring, Disney will release their newest animated feature, ‘Zootopia’. It’s a story about an incredible city that has an intricate community within its quarters. A place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything you want. But, when rookie officer Judy Hopps arrives, she quickly realizes that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde, to solve a mystery.
I was blessed to attend an early press day for Disney’s ‘Zootopia’ and quickly fell in love with both of these characters. Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are the heart of the story. Because I spent a day getting to know and love the world of ‘Zootopia’ and it’s two stars, I thought the only proper thing to do was to introduce them to you.
“We talked to an incredible bias expert, Shatki Butler,” adds producer Clark Spencer, “who said that it is hard to be biased against someone once you get to know him. That fundamental idea folded beautifully into our story of a bunny and a fox, natural enemies, both assuming something about each other, but learning their assumptions are completely wrong once they are forced to team up.”
Meet Judy Hopps
Judy Hopps is a small town girl from Bunnyburrow with big dreams. Ever since she was a little girl, she wanted to be a police officer. Sadly, the odds were stacked against her being Zootopia’s first police officer who also happens to be a bunny. However, Judy refused to give up on her dream and really takes to heart the motto of the big city: “In Zootopia, anyone can be anything.” She doesn’t like bullies and stands up for the little guy.
Although, Judy isn’t big and strong like her colleagues, she learns how to use her natural skills to excel at the job even though her boss Chief Bogo doesn’t want a bunny in his force.
Meet Nick Wilde
Nick Wilde is a fast talking, untrustworthy, sly fox that believes you are what you are, so why fight it. Therefore, he embraces being a con artist and makes it a point to be the best in the game. As a life long resident of Zootopia, when he runs into Judy Hopps he assumes she’s just another rabbit from the country. However, he soon finds out there is more to her than meets the eye.
Nick believes that Judy’s dreams are just fantasy and makes it a point to let her know his feelings.
Story Synopsis
The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when rookie Officer Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman), to solve the mystery.
Kypho says
Just enjoy the movie for what it is: a hilarious buddy cop movie with animals instead of people. Mistakes are made, friendships are broken and repaired, and jokes abound in this movie. People are always gonna have prejudices and that is that.
