How to Get Red Carpet Ready2

As a little girl, I often day dreamed about a princes coming to carry me away from all of the chaos of school, work and life. I remember imaging, the dress I would wear to the ball, how my hair would look and even the shades of my makeup. However, reality would always creep in and interrupt my dream.

However, though God’s grace, I recieved an invite to an exclusive party, hosted by JCPenney’s.  In celebration of the World Premiere of Disney’s “Cinderella “on Sunday, March 1, JCPenney’s held a “Glam Ball”.  My day was filled with moments that surpassed my imagination. I felt like, I had my own Fairy God Mother to prepare me for Prince Charming’s Royal Ball.

Through my experience, I discovered how to get red carpet ready without breaking the bank.  Please feel free to share with your friends by pinning to Pinterest or clicking the share buttons to the left.

Here’s 6 Steps Getting Red Carpet Ready Without Breaking Your Bank Account:

Step 1 – Skin Care

Although, I love going to get facials it is important to have a skin care regiment at home. I am usually hesitant of using over the counter products because they tend to leave my skin dry. However, I discovered Clear Proof Acne System by Mary Kay. It’s easy to apply, keeps my skin hydrated, controls breakouts and gives me a very healthy glow without the feeling of stick residue.

Step 2 – Nails

It’s nice going to get my nails done. But, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband too. So this week, when we were spending time together he did my nails. Yes it may sound funny, but Matt did a great job and I saved money that can be applied to something else. I used a lagoon blue metallic polish by ORLY call “It’s Up To Blue”. Matt applied two coat with a third coat of clear polish to amplify metallic color. The Orly polish didn’t streak or bubble and it dried pretty quickly.

Step 3 – The Perfect Dress

Since I am a petite plus size women, it’s always hard to find formal dresses. What’s more, they are usually very expensive. I was blessed to recently discovered Sydneyscloset.com. They specializes in providing glamorous plus size dresses for women and teens. They offer hundreds of designs available in sizes 14 to 40 at affordable prices. I was able to find the perfect formal dress and when I wore it, I felt like a princess.

On the day of the JCPenney GlamBall, my Fairy God Mothers sent me a horse & carriage (car service) to carry me away to the event. My day consist of sampling exquisite  treats, being pamper by JCPenney’s expert Hair Stylist, Makeup Artist and fashion Stylist at the Glam Ball. Which was held at the beautiful Loews Hotel in Hollywood.

Step 4 – Accessories

When I arrived to the ball, I was greeted by a gold prince that escorted me to the accessories room. Where a stylist assisted me in finding the prefect accessories for my dress. I love the silver clutch and bracelet she selected for me.  Until the event, I was unaware of the wide selection of unique and affordable jewelry they offer.

Step 5 – Makeup

Next, I was greeted by a professional Makeup artist. She was able to create a look for me that enhances my natural beauty. What’s more she even created a custom lipstick for me, which complimented my skin ton. I was so please with my new look, I plan on going to Sephora Beauty Studio inside JCPenney stores to find the matching colors.

Step 6 – Hair

Finally, my overall look was completed with amuch need touchup by a JCPenney hair stylist. Normally, I am very picky about people touching my hair. However, I’ve been going to my local JCPenney Salon for years, so I knew she would treat me like a princess.

Once, I was all dolled up, I attended a private pre-reception and the World Premiere of Cinderella film at the El Capitan Theatre.
