This week has started out slow with the exception of practice. We have no doctor’s appointments and can relax a little this week. Brayden’s coach lets us know that he enrolled the team into a tournament this weekend. Yay! So we start gearing up and getting pumped for this weekend.
It’s game day, but first we have to go grocery shopping. I am getting cheese and all that fun stuff from the dairy section, I look up and Brayden is at the blood pressure machine. I tell him to get back over next to me since it’s not a toy to play with. He looks at me and tells me his arm is stuck. Really? I go over thinking he is playing. No, his arm really is stuck. Bless his heart, he looks scared. I have to unplug the machine so he can get his arm out. Oh what a way to start off this day :).
We get home and get groceries put away. Brayden gets his uniform on while I get everything loaded into the car. Thankfully Alysin naps the whole time. We are finally off to meet my husband and head to the ball game. Brayden is excited as always when we get there and gets pumped up for the game. His grandparents come to watch him play this time around and he lights up. As I have said before, I love to see my little man happy.
He has to play two games tonight. Those two games decide where the team will be seated in the bracket. The actual tournament doesn’t start until Saturday. The team does really well Friday night. As always, they came to play and do great.
We are up bright and early Saturday. Brayden’s games start at 9:00am but he has to be there at 8:15am. It is already hot outside and the boys start the morning off good by winning the first game. The tournament is double elimination so we either have to lose twice or we play for the championship. The team came to win today. We play a total of 3 games and they are in the championship. Brayden hits a perfect line drive down 3rd base line and gets 2 runs in. Yes, they win the championship. The smile on all those boys faces is worth sitting in the heat.
They have a trophy ceremony and we take Brayden out to eat. All he talks about through dinner is the games. I love the way his face lights up when he is talking about playing baseball. We are always excited to have Sundays to relax. As it will be a very busy week this week and the weekend will be even busier. We have State All Stars tournament.
Brayden still loves to play baseball. As I have said before, we would never push him to do anything he didn’t want to. I am very proud of Brayden for wanting to be part of a team and I will support him in whatever he chooses to do in life.

Isn’t it so wonderful to see your son so happy playing a sport he loves to play? I have a 9 yr old who was on 3 allstar teams this yr and it was a long and exhausting but yet fun time. Unfortunately we didn’t win championship on any of the 3 teams he was on but came close to getting there. My son LOVES baseball and I absolutely LOVE watching him play. He amazes me! I am a Baseball Mom and LOVE it 🙂
