I recently needed to purchase a gift for a close friend and found some coasters I really liked, but they were quite expensive. So I through, I would try making my own coasters. I couldn’t believe how easy they were to make! The best part is they are easy to make, cost very little money, and you can personalize them. These are perfect to give as teacher gifts or to sale at a holiday craft festival.
Items needed:
- 4 inch tiles
- Scrapbook paper
- Mod Podge
- Clear Acrylic Spray
- Felt
Instructions:
- Clean the tiles and make sure they are completely dry
- Cut the scrapbook paper into 4 inch squares
- Apply a layer of Mod Podge to the tile and then place a piece of scrapbook paper on. Be sure to smooth out the paper so there are no bubbles. Let dry
- Apply another 2-3 coats of Mod Podge to the tile as a top coat. Be sure to let the Mod Podge dry between coats
- Once the top layers of Mod Podge are dry, apply two coats of clear acrylic spray to the tiles. Be sure to do this outside, and let dry between coats
