“This post is sponsored by Pull-Ups® Training Pants. The story and ideas expressed below are from my own personal experience.”

Some of my fondest memories with my first two children were established during their toddler years. It was fascinating to experience different milestones with them…Until it was time to start potty training, that is. Potty training was quite hard for me, so my husband took the lead. It seemed like, Matt, had easily mastered potty training our sons. At least that was what I believed until we started talking about having another child. Only then did he admit how difficult potty training our sons was for him. I clearly remember Matt turning to me and saying, “It doesn’t matter if we have a boy or a girl you are in charge of potty training them. I refuse to be the lead this time.”

So that means I am in charge this time, and he was right, potty training can be a difficult journey! Although we used Pull-Ups® Training Pants, I was recently able to overcome my struggle when I discovered a whole new way to train my daughter, Joy based on her personality through the Pull-Ups® Potty Partnership.

The partnership is a personalized program tailored to work with your child’s unique personality, on their schedule and according to their learning style. Based on research and observation of personality types in young children they have developed five potty training personalities: Puppy, Owl, Bear Cub, Turtle, and Squirrel.

Pull®-Ups teamed up with Dr. Heather Wittenberg, a renowned child psychologist, and potty training expert to help create the personalities and partnership.

To determine Joy’s potty personality, I took Pull®-Ups potty personality quiz, and through 9 quick and easy questions, I found out that Joy was an Owl.  Owls are determined, busy, and predictable down to the second. Owls take careful note of changes, want to understand rules, and prefer to stay clean.

By learning her personality type, I gained a better understanding of what she needs from me to successfully navigate this important stage in her life.  Along with taking the quiz, the program includes tips, tools, advice and support for both her and I throughout the process. Pull-Ups.com also has potty charts, stickers, and games to help us grow and partner together throughout this significant milestone.

Potty training doesn’t have to be overwhelming for both you and your child, click the button below to take the Pull®-Ups potty personality quiz to discover your child’s potty training personality!

To celebrate our new Pull-Ups® Potty Partnership, Joy and I were invited to an exclusive party at the Disneyland Resort hosted by Pull®-Ups.  At the party, Joy was able to hang out with Mickey and Minnie, dance with Sofia the First and hugged Doc McStuffins!

She played fun games based on each of five potty training personalities while snacking on some of her favorite treats.

The event ended with us receiving a gift bag of Pull®-Ups Pull-Ups and other essentials to continue our journey, along with a gift card to Walmart and 4 tickets to Disneyland.

My family shops at Walmart all the time for groceries and items for our boys, so it’s awesome I can purchase Pull®-Ups Training Pants here as well because they have a great selection with the best prices.

Since I was eager to begin potty training Joy based upon her potty training personality, I decided to pick up some essential items, such as wipes, more Pull-Ups® which have cute designs to help keep her motivated and of course the boys threw in some snacks of their own.

I love that Walmart makes my life easier by offering everything we need in one place. I would much rather be spending time with Joy (even if it’s potty training!), than running around from place to place to get all of my errands done. Walmart and Pull-Ups® have changed our lives for the better! You can learn more about the different Pull®-Ups offering at Walmart on their website.

Now that I know her potty personality and have the resources available through the Pull®-Ups Potty Partnership, I can enjoy this special moment in her life instead of dreading it.

I never thought about children having a “potty personality” but it makes sense! I loved your post and your photos.

All of my children were different in the potty training area so what I tried once did not necessarily work on the other children/child. I just know that the best thing a parent can do is have patience with the child while potty training.

My Potty Training Experiences Have Taught Me That Each Child Is Different. What Worked For One Child May Not Work For Another. Patience Is Key.

My first and third daughters were easy to potty train but the middle one did not want to have anything to do with it. We just backed off and gave her more time and she finally decided she wanted to do it herself.

potty training has been ok for us, some days are really good and others she won’t go on the potty at all! We’ve been trying many techniques from online so hopefully we will find the one that works for us.
