If you’re reading this and you don’t own a Nintendo Switch yet, now is the perfect time to grab one. Throughout the next calendar year, Nintendo is set to release tons of great games. My household is very into gaming, we spent a lot of cold Winter nights playing anything from your classic board games, to Little Big Planet, and of course, things like Mario Party, Mario Kart, Wii Sports, and Super Smash Bros. If your family doesn’t own a console and would like to pick one up specifically for family co-ops, the Nintendo Switch is your best option. If you already own a Switch, and you’re looking for a cheaper, more durable version for the little ones, then the Nintendo Switch Lite may be the one for you, this September 20th. Before I go too off-topic, let’s talk about the games. If you’re a day one Switch owner like me, you’ve probably reached that point where you have put hours into Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey and you’re ready for new titles. Super Mario Maker 2: Now, this one you don’t have to wait for, you can get it right now! Super Mario Maker 2 puts all of its users in the developer’s seat by letting us create our own Super Mario levels. If creating levels isn’t your thing then there’s no need to worry, you have a brand new story mode and nearly an endless supply of custom made levels to enjoy!
MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order: Again, here’s another title that you can pick up right now. This title is great if you’re looking for a fun couch co-op for the family. You get to assemble your favorite Marvel heroes from the Avengers, X-men, and Guardians of the Galaxy! Your objective is to defeat Thanos and stop him from obtaining all of the infinity stones.
Luigi’s Mansion 3: Arriving this Halloween, Luigi is set on another ghost hunting adventure that traverses multiple floors of a luxurious hotel. With the assistance of Professor E. Gadd, Luigi must save Mario and friends from the grasp of King Boo’s schemes.
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening: I literally can’t wait to get my hands on this one. Link’s Awakening is a reimagining of the popular Gameboy game, Link’s Awakening DX and gives the game a massive graphical upgrade compared to the original. I got to play a fun demo of the game at a special event not too long ago and it feels like the whole game is one large puzzle or dungeon and I love that about it. Pick your copy up on September 20th!
Pokemon Sword & Shield: This one needs no explanation does it? Pokemon is releasing a new region and generation of Pokemon for us all to fall in love with. New to Pokemon this year, players will get to Dynamax their favorite pocket monsters, which essentially makes them grow into gigantic terrifying or adorable beasts. Players can also partake in Max Raid Battles which pit trainers against strong Dynamax Pokemon with the chance to capture them. Pokemon’s newest journey starts on November 15th.
