America’s favorite pizza eating, Kung Fu fighting turtles are back in theaters today!
Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael return to theaters this summer to battle bigger, badder villains, alongside April O’Neil (Megan Fox), Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett), and a newcomer: the hockey-masked vigilante Casey Jones (Stephen Amell). After supervillain Shredder (Brian Tee) escapes custody, he joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) and two dimwitted henchmen, Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (WWE Superstar Stephen “Sheamus” Farrelly), to unleash a diabolical plan to take over the world. As the Turtles prepare to take on Shredder and his new crew, they find themselves facing an even greater evil with similar intentions: the notorious Krang.
I was blessed to take Joy to see this movie last month, and she enjoyed it. This movie is filled with comedy and mind-blowing stunts along with a beautiful lesson kids can learn from this film. That its ok to be different. Although Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael have the citizens of New York from some of the meanest of villains, they remain in the shadows because they are afraid people will not embrace them being different. However, in the end, the turtles learn their difference are a strength and that the people who matter will accept them. In a world where kids feel like they have to fit in based on what they see on the internet and social media. I think it is great to have a movie where the heroes deal insecurities too and how they overcame their doubts.
Overall Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; Out of the Shadows is a fun movie to see with the entire family. What’s more, if you love Stephen Amell from the show Arrow or Megan Fox you are in for a treat!
