A couple of weeks ago, in Santa Monica, I was graced with the opportunity to experience Pokemon’s new title for the first time. It was a small event open to the public that gave local trainers a chance to get their hands on Let’s Go Pikachu, Let’s Go Eevee, and the Pokeball Plus controller.
Two trailers were set up with game stations inside. The playable demo took me through the Viridian Forest, which is an iconic location in the Pokemon franchise. Wild Pokemon would roam through the bushes waiting for capture, and the music during the entire playthrough made me feel nostalgic. Graphically, the standards have reached a new evolution for the Pokemon series from what I experienced.
The Pokeball Plus is what has me excited for November. It’s palm-sized, has two buttons, an analog stick, accompanied with rumbling/light effects. Using the Pokeball Plus to catch Pokemon brought the whole experience together for me. The motion controls with the ball are very responsive and fluent. As far as catching Pokemon goes, it plays similarly to Pokemon Go except you can battle Pokemon the same way you have in previous titles, it’s a nice blend of the two, in my opinion.
Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee hits shelves November, 16th. The game will be compatible with the popular mobile game Pokemon Go and is one of the most anticipated Nintendo Switch titles of the year. I would highly recommend grabbing a Pokeball Plus with the game because I personally think it’s worth every dime. This won’t be the last time we write about the game, so look forward to more Nintendo posts this holiday season!
Gotta Catch ‘Em All!
