Open Season has had four animated movies spanning over nearly a decade, the adventures of Boog the bear and Elliot; the deer has won over the hearts and laughs of many families.
Their latest installment Open Season: Scared Silly, may be better than the two prior, but not quite as good as the original. I thoroughly enjoyed the originality of the jokes in the film, and I feel like they rewarded the older audience with jokes that they’ll catch onto easier than the young ones. To conclude, the movie is definitely family material, and it’s best-enjoyed on Blu-Ray.
But wait, there’s more! I’ve always wanted to write that. Anywho, Open Season: Scared Silly on Blu-Ray has some great bonus features you and your family should check out after watching the film together.
The disc includes:
- A feature commentary by director David Feiss and Carlos Kotkin, a director profile of David Feiss
- My favorite, a super speedy recap of the series that features not only a narrated by the voice of Elliot, but they did a fantastic job at laying down what happened in the three previous films. It was also intriguing to watch the changes in animation as it progressed through the recap.
So that’s all, for now, guys, I highly recommend adding Open Season: Scared Silly to your blue case collection. Joy loved watching Boog and friends for the first time, and I think your family will too.
Until Next Time!
