Recently my family and I were blessed to be invited by the Disney Channel to attend the World Premiere of Under Wraps 2 at Disneyland, now available on Disney Channel and streaming on Disney+. Today’s story is brought to you by Here’s One Life Lesson You Will Learn from Under Wraps 2.
I didn’t have the opportunity to see the first film and wasn’t sure what to expect. However, Imonni wanted to see it, and the trailer for the movie looked adorable. So I figured it would be a fantastic movie to watch with her.
(DISCLAIMER: I WAS INVITED TO DISNEYLAND COURTESY OF DISNEY CHANNEL TO ATTEND THE #UnderWraps2 PREMIERE IN EXCHANGE FOR MY COVERAGE. NO OTHER COMPENSATION WAS PROVIDED. ALL VIEWS SHARED ARE COMPLETELY MY OWN)
If you are looking for a fun, entertaining, and not too scary film to watch this Halloween season. I recommend you grab some popcorn, sit back, relax and spend quality time watching this lovely movie with your kids. Plus One Life Lesson You Will Learn from Under Wraps 2.
One Life Lesson You Will Learn from Under Wraps 2
As stated by the film’s Director, Alex Zamm: “I have a confession, I love monster films; I ‘v loved them since the day I was born. They are special, but if you noticed something about most monster movies, monsters are bad, and usually, people try to destroy them… But what makes this movie and the Under Wraps movies unusual is that the monsters are good. They may be scary looking at first, but they find something special, and I think this is a rare breed of monster.”
“And my home for the audience is that after seeing this movie, If you meet someone a little different than yourself, you will give them a fair shake, and you won’t judge a book by its’ cover, and let’s not judge a mummy by its’ wrappings.”
This message is enforced seamlessly in several areas of the film. A lesson on inclusion is played out through the complex relationship between best friends; Amy (Sophia Hammons) Gilbert (Christian J. Simon) and Marshall (Malachi Barton). I love how the storyline shows a beautifully normal relationship Amy (Sophia Hammons) shares with her father (Claude Knowlton) and his fiance (Anotion Cayonne) as she plans their Halloween-inspired wedding. I plan on watching this fantastic family-friendly film several times during October with Justin and Imonni.
About the Film
“Under Wraps 2” picks up as Marshall, Gilbert and Amy are getting ready to attend Amy’s father’s Halloween-themed wedding. However, plans soon go awry when the three friends discover their mummy pal Harold and his beloved Rose may be in danger. Sobek, an evil mummy with a 1000-year-old grudge against his best friend-turned-bitter-rival Harold, is unexpectedly awakened and out for revenge. With help from his hypnotized lacky Larry, Sobek kidnaps Rose. Amy, Gilbert, Marshall, Buzzy and Harold must use their skills once again to save her and get back in time to attend the wedding.
At the Event
Before the premiere, guests were invited to enjoy a day with their families exploring Disneyland. Which was a treat for us since we’ve not been able to go to Disneyland since the Pandemic, and Imonni’s birthday is coming up.
At the reception for the film, we took pictures with classic Disney characters. Goofy also made a surprise appearance in his mummy attire!
The “Under Wraps 2” cast and Director were all in attendance, including Malachi Barton (“Marshall”), Phil Wright (“Harold”), Sophia Hammons (“Amy”), Christian J. Simon (“Gilbert”), Rryla McIntosh (“Rose”), Claude Knowlton (“Pop”), Antonio Cayonne (“Carl”), T.J. Storm (“Sobek”), Melanie Brook (“Buzzy”), Adam Wylie (“Beuller”), Jordan Conley (“Larry”), and director Alex Zamm.
Imonni had the opportunity to meet Amy (Sophia Hammons)& (Claude Knowlton) who plays her dad in the film. Both stars were very kind to Imonni, making this a childhood memory she will never forget.
After the screening for the movie and we ended the night watching the spectacular Halloween Screams Fireworks in a reserved viewing area in front of “it’s a small world” attraction.
Thank you Disney Channel, for inviting us to such a lovely movie with an incredibly positive message.
