My family and I were blessed to attend the launch party for DreamWorks all-new action-packed Netflix original series DINOTRUX at the Hollywood Athletic Club with Dinotrux Executive Producers Ron Burch & David Kidd, along with special guests including Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World, The Twilight Saga).
From the minute we entered the party it felt like we entered the Mechazoic Era. There was an area where Joy was able to watch episodes of the new series while relaxing on beanbags that looked like boulders. In another section, Joy spent time exploring the world of Dinotrux through DreamWorks brand-new mobile app’s DreamWorks Color & DreamWorks Dinotrux game available on iTunes and Android. Since she loves to color, she liked experimenting with the DreamWorks Color, which allows you to reimagine DreamWorks Animation characters and worlds by printing out coloring pages, coloring the pages and seeing them jump off the page. Other activities included face painting, an obstacle course and photo booth where we made a wacky flip book.
Later in the evening, Joy played with some of the all-new Dinotrux playsets and vehicles by Mattel. The toys are well built and, I am positive they will be a hot item this Christmas. To top off the amazing night, Executive Producer David Kidd took a moment to meet Joy and see how she was enjoying the toys. Along with the new line of Dinotrux toys which can be pre-ordered now on Toysrus.com. Gymboree’s launching a boy’s clothing line, hitting stores on September 8th.
By the end of the night, we sat down to enjoyed Mechazoic Milkshakes, sliders, and I packed Joy a nice favor bag filled with rock candy and other treats from the candy bar.
Story Synopsis
Using the award-winning series of books by Chris Gall as a jumping-off point, the show’s writers and animators have created the wholly original Mechazoic Era, a fantastical time ruled by Dozeratops, Ankylodumps, Craneosaurs, and fearsome T-Truxes!When an erupting volcano forces Ty, an enormous Tyrannosaurus Rex combined with a megaton excavator, to flee his home valley suddenly, the tough but charismatic hero finds himself charged into an unfamiliar crater full of his favorite food: ore. But the new landscape holds even more wondrous discoveries: other species of Dinotrux, a race of resourceful reptiles combined with hand tools called the Reptools, and a territorial bad guy with a nasty temper named D-Structs who lives by a very simple credo: “I don’t share.”
My family and I thank DreamWorks for inviting us to celebrate a new area for the studio.
