When my youngest son, Houston, started watching Phineas and Ferb, I never thought I would be spending a day with the creators, to celebrate an end of an era. However, through the grace of God I received a lifetime experience, that I can not wait to share with my future grandkids, as they watch reruns. Before, I go into the story, I just want you to know Disney/Pixar, Disney Channel and Disney XD sent me to Los Angeles on an all-expenses-paid press trip, in exchange for my coverage of this and others, all opinions are my own.
As part of the Inside Out Event, 25 wonderful women and I were invited to celebrate the final episode of Phineas and Ferb with the shows Creators and Executive Producers Dan Povenmire & Jeff “Swampy” Marsh.
We started the day with a private screening the 1-hour special Phineas and Ferb “Last Day of Summer” which airs June 12, 2015 on The Disney Channel and Disney XD at 9 pm EST. My youngest son grew up watching the cartoon, so viewing the final episode was bittersweet for me. The story ends with a strong message about family, and you are going to want to watch it with the kids.
After the screening, we joined Dan Povenmire, Jeff “Swampy” Marsh Phineas and Ferb for a picnic, of course. The food was delicious, I loved the barbecued brisket and the corn bread, it reminded me of my moms. The experience was surreal and I just kept thinking how much of a blessing to be a part of this event.
Before we left to do our interview with Kyle MacLachlan voice of “Dad” in INSIDE OUT, I was able to grab a selfie with the show’s creators.
