Recently Our team was invited to a special media event to kick off Knott’s Peanuts Celebration a multi-weekend festival uniquely dedicated to honoring the beloved PEANUTS Gang. That features PEANUTS-inspired comic strip photo ops, new entertainment, family-friendly activities and festive park-wide décor, from January 26 –March 10, 2019
Today’s Story is hosted by Knott’s Berry Farm, all options are my own.
We started off our day with a fabulous lunch of Mrs. Knotts famous fried chicken & all the fix’ns.
Tip 1 – While at Knott’s a trip to Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant is a must!! Their food is amazing and it’s a family tradition for us. (Located outside the park just before the entrance)
Durning our lunch we learned about all the new merchandise coming to Knott’s for the peanut celebration there is a very cute specially priced shirt for only $14.99.
All the other new items are adorable as well. We also got to see all the new food & treats. We actually got to sample the blue fruit loop treat & the lemon bar both were delicious. I personally can’t wait to try the new hot dog stand in Fiesta Village & try the vegan dog it sounds very tasty. After the presentation, we ventured into the park so explore all the special events happening during Knott’s Peanuts Celebration.
Here’s Mom’s Guide to Knott’s Peanuts Celebration with Kids
PigPen’s Pig Pen – (Located at the Livery Stables)
If your little ones are learning about animals or just loves going to the Zoo. They will love this activity. They get to see a few live animals that are on a farm. Our favorite was the baby pigs they were so cute it was fun to watch them running around their pen.
Tip 2 – If you are your child is a PigPen’s fan depending on the time you arrive they have a photo opportunity that you can do with the character.
Peanuts Sketch School (Located at the Bird Cage Theatre)
Learn to draw a Peanuts’ character. We learned how to draw Linus. A professional cartoonist taught us how to drew Linus and the girls had a blast. Although Mrs. Kathy King’s daughter Joy and my little love bug enjoyed this activity, I notice the smaller kids just seemed to not have the attention span to follow along, so suggest this is perfect if your child is an artist at heart and ages 10 & up.
Tip 3 – Although they do provide clipboards for you to draw on the best seat in the house is at the front of the stage where they have benches lined up around the stage and a table for you to use to draw on. They also have rugs layout out on the stage for the kids to sit on and draw as well. People line up for this fun so I suggest getting there about 15 to 20 minutes early to grab a good seat.
Peanuts Cowboy Jamboree (Located in Calico Park in Ghost town, you pass this little area before you get in line for the train.)
Now the girls really loved participating in this interactive activity. Throughout the day they have different games for the kids to play with Peanuts (Cowboys) Linus & Washington. When we were there the girls played horseshoes using shoes that were made out of rubber. The kids really had fun and kept getting back in line to play. Later on in the day, we came back for a pie throwing contest, the pies were made out of a plastic material as well. After they complete the game there is a photo opportunity you can do with characters.
Tip 4 – This is a great activity for the kids to again feel like that are part of the celebration. It’s fun for the whole family however most of the participants in our group were kids 6-12. There are picnic benches off to the sides of the play area making it a great place for mom or dad to rest as you watch the kids play.
Space Beagle (Located in Camp Snoopy at the Camp Snoopy Theatre)
A cute song and dance program featuring NASA Charlie Brown, Lucy & Snoopy. Watch Snoopy go to space. There are some interaction and dancing with the kids that are sitting in the front aisle. This show is great for preschoolers or younger.
Tip – 5 The show gets packed so we recommend you getting there about 30 minutes early to get a seat in the front or shade.
Woodstock’s Musical Festival (Located at the Calico MIne Stage)
This is hands down our favorite show during Knott’s Peanuts Celebration. A fun song & dance show with Charlie Brown, Lucy & Snoopy Featuring Jelly of the Month Club. This one will have you dancing in your seat songs from originals to rock legends. Joy couldn’t help from dancing to the tunes. We recommend as one of the best shows for the entire family ages 1 to 101.
Tip – 6 The first show starts later in the afternoon and seating is limited. Therefore we recommend grabbing dinner about 1 1/2 hours before the show starts and bring it over to the location to enjoy. This way you are able to grab a sit before the show and relax and eat dinner.
We hope you enjoyed our tips and please comment below or message us on Instagram to let us know how you enjoyed your visit.
Here’s to creating wonderful memories with your kids!
