Recently, Joy and I attended an MY LITTLE PONY: THE MOVIE Digital Release holiday party hosted by Lionsgate at Duff’s Cake Mix Studio in Pasadena to celebrate the upcoming My Little Pony Digital and DVD release.
My family and I are huge fans of Jeffrey Adam “Duff” Goldman. What’s more, we use to watch of his reality show “Ace of Cakes” which featured his Baltimore-based business “Charm City Cakes shop” and his newest Food Network reality television shows “Duff Till Dawn” and “Cake Masters” which featured his second Los Angeles-based location Charm City Cakes West. So Matt and I were super excited to attend the event.
During the event guest where provided all the tools needed to make the perfect My Little Pony themed cupcakes. Joy decorated a chocolate cupcake, using pink frosting, sour rainbow candy and topped it off with your favorite character Twilight Sparkle; I think she did a great job. Although she wanted to eat it faster then it took to create, I was able to convince her to wait till we’re home. So she could show her big brothers her creation.
I love Pinkie Pie, therefore Matt, using Duff’s very delicious pre-made fondant, created the cupcake above. I thought his creation, showed off his artistic talent and it was too beautiful to eat. However, Duff’s cupcakes are so good and I just couldn’t resist.
The guest was treated to a delicious a Tea Party Luncheon, Hairstyling w/Hair Chalk & clip-on extensions, Christmas Ornament decorating and the kids were able to grab their friends to take a fun photo.
However, the highlight was Joy meeting the legend behind the voice of her all-time favorite character Tara Strong. Her iconic voice over career includes “BUBBLES” in “THE POWER PUFF GIRLS,” “TIMMY TURNER” in “THE FAIRLY ODD PARENTS,” “DIL PICKLES” in “RUGRATS,” “RAVEN” in “TEEN TITANS,” “BATGIRL,” “FAMILY GUY,” “DRAWN TOGETHER,” “BEN 10,” “MELODY” in “THE LITTLE MERMAID 2,” “SPIRITED AWAY,” etc. She is Miss Collins on NICKELODEON’S “BIG TIME RUSH” and the current voice of “HARLEY QUINN.” She is Emmy nominated, a SHORTY AWARD winner and of course “TWILIGHT SPARKLE” in “MY LITTLE PONY.”
