AJ and I were beyond excited to be invited to Legoland waterpark to take a tour of the upcoming attractions opening up for the summer of 2017. We had never been to the waterpark area of Legoland, so we were in for quite a treat. AJ loves to splash and play in water any chance he gets so this was the perfect opportunity for us to get wet and have a blast together. We arrived before the park open to the public and patiently awaited with other media and guest from Ronald Mcdonald House Charity for shuttles to whisk us away to the front gates of Legolands water park. As Aj and I walked thru to the waterpark, we were greeted by friendly smiling staff members pointing the way to the Surfers Cove event.
Aj could hardly contain his excitement once he realized we were to spend the day at the waterpark as special guests of Legoland. Since it was the first time we were visiting the water park, I was unsure of what to expect. As we entered the park, I noticed everything was very clean, organized. The lockers and changing rooms were close by very tidy and well maintained. The first area we went to was a toddler play area with plenty of seating and shade for parents to watch the little ones play, complete with a life jacket stand for those little ones who aren’t water safe yet. This offered extra peace of mind for me as well knowing that safety is first in and around the water. Aj loved the slides and the water spouts in this area, also the staff and lifeguards were extra helpful with the kids.
With hard hats and safety vests on, looking more like one of the village people than a mom. We took a tour around the newest area being built at the waterpark set to be open June 31st, 2017. Surfers Cove will offer a racing waterslide that parents and kids will be able to race down on a mat on a timed slide against one another to see who makes it to the bottom first. I cant wait to race against AJ this summer when it opens. There will also be a wipeout lagoon added complete with a wave pool. Legoland also listened to the parents and added more shade, more trees, more seating and lounging areas in these new attractions to keep the adults as happy as the kids.
In addition to these two new areas opening at Legoland Waterpark is also adding a new restaurant to this section called beach street tacos which will open the same time as the new attractions. Cannot wait to try the new food and rides next time we go this summer.
Which area will you visit with your kids?
