We were given the opportunity to visit LEGOLAND California on March 4th for the revealing of the newest addition to Star Wars Miniland “The Death Star”. The most feared Space station in majority of all the Star Wars films.
Before the reveal we were able to check out the other famous scenes from the six Star Wars movies, there was also a scene from the animated series “The Clone Wars”. All the scenes were so detailed, that my oldest & I were both truly amazed. You can press a button to activate the animations which brings each scene alive. There is location were you can take selfie’s with a life-size Lego Darth Vader, Chewbacca or R2-D2. If you are a Star Wars fan, then LEGOLAND California Star Wars Miniland “Death Star” exhibit is worth the visit.
Fun Fact 1: Out of the 2,000 Lego Models a few of them are Six feet plus in height.
In addition, to the Legoland Star Wars Miniland “Death Star”, I thought it would be neat to share with the famous scenes in chronological order. Episode I: Naboo
The Royal Palace and the hangar can be seen here. This scene depicts the Battle of Naboo and the capital Theed. In this battle scene, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn encounter and fight Darth Maul.
Episode II: Geonosis
Here you can see Padmé Amidala, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker battle ferocious creatures in the Geonosis arena. Then on the right you can see the clash between Count Dooku’s droid army and the Grand Army of the Republic. If you look closely you can see Yoda in one of the transporters.
Episode III: Kashyyyk and Mustafar
There are two different planets revealed in this scene: Kashyyyk and Mustafar. On the Kashyyyk side , you’ll have a up close look at the Battle of Kashyyyk – the home of Chewbacca and the Wookiees. Also in this scene you will be able to see a massive Clone Turbo Tank. Then on the Mustafar side you’ll see the fateful duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker floating about the lava.
Episode IV: Tatooine
In this scene you can see a Jawa Sandcrawler outside Uncle Owen’s home. Then on the other side you can see C-3PO and R2-D2, Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi on top of the cliff looking down at the city, they are surrounded by the sandpeople. take a peek into the Cantina were you can hear the famous Cantina Band playing there favorite song. This is a large layout of the city including the spaceport were the Millennium Falcon is ready to take off. (This is the largest LEGO Model before the new Death Star)
Fun Fact 2: Star Wars Miniland were made with 1.5 million Lego Bricks built in 1:20 Scale.
Episode V: Hoth
This is one of the most coolest scenes were the Empire tracks down the Rebels and attack them with two huge AT-ATs models This scene had a lot going on. Look closely you can see Luke Skywalker being held by the snow creature. Then you can see Luke Skywalker hanging of the side of one of the AT-ATs. You can also take a look inside the hanger that is holding a X-wing and two Snow Speeders.
Episode VI: Endor
This scene shows the large scale model of the Imperial Shuttle on the platform with Darth Vader being greeted by a Commander. This is were the Ewoks are discovered when Luke Skywalker, Hans Solo, Princess Lea and the Rebel army fight to take down the force field that was protecting the new Death Star being made, so that the Rebels can attack and destroy the almost built Death Star that they just found out is able to destroy Planets.
The Clone Wars: Christophsis
They included a scene from animated series The Clone Wars. This scene has a replica 8-foot tall building from the Crystal City. You will also see a battle between the Republic Clone Troppers and the Separatist battle droids. The animated series which takes place between Episode II and Episode III. This was a closer look at the journey of the Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
There is a Walk of Fame of favorite Star Wars characters built with LEGO’s. These figures are awesome I wish I can take home Boba Fett. Here is a view of all 12 3in models.
