How To Design An Entryway That Sets The Right Tone

Your entryway or hallway in your home is probably just a place where you throw your keys and kick off your shoes when you get home, but what if it could be more than that? What if you could upgrade it so that it becomes something that really sets the tone for the rest of your home in a good way? Well, the great news is that you can do exactly that, so keep reading to find out what kinds of things you might need to include.

Start With A Statement Piece
If you want to have a great hallway, you’re going to need to have at least one thing in it that catches the eye and makes people want to look further – a statement piece, in other words. Although there are tons of things you can choose for this, something that’s sure to stand out for all the right reasons is a marble console table, which is always going to look lovely, and because it’s made of marble, it’s also going to give your home a feeling of luxury and sophistication.

What’s even better is that it’s practical – not just as a place to keep a phone or keys and so on, but the marble will reflect light, making the space feel a lot more bright and airy, and in a small hallway (and hallways do tend to be on the small side), that’s really important.

Use Wall Art

If you want your entryway to set the right tone, it’s important to think about how to make it feel more personal and reflect your personality – that way, people will know what to expect from the rest of the house, plus every time you come home, you’ll feel happy to be there because it’s comfortable from the moment you step inside.

Wall art is a great way to inject some personality into any room, so why not your hallway as well? Or what about photos of people and places that made you happy and bring great memories to mind? Whatever you choose, the end result should be a space that feels like you and is totally inviting.

Add Some Plants

What is it about plants that is just so fantastic and, strange as it might sound at first, welcoming? Because plants actually are welcoming, which makes them the perfect addition to your hallway. Perhaps it’s the fact that you have to take care of them, so you feel a sort of bond with them, but whatever it is, having them in your hallway is an excellent idea. And you can even use fake ones if you like (not everyone is green thumbed, after all!).

If floor space is a bit of a problem, don’t worry; you can hang plants in fun pots and baskets from the ceiling, giving the area a unique feel that is sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face when you open the door and they see what’s beyond it.
