7 Fun Facts about Rebecca Ferguson star of Mission Impossible Rogue Nation

I have followed the Mission Impossible franchise since the first installment. Although, I think, they are all fantastic, the new “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation” is truly in a league of its own, and it is my favorite one. I was blessed to interview Rebecca Ferguson star “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation”.

Besides being the leading lady in this summer’s biggest blockbusters, she is a mom and during our interview I discovered a few fun facts about Rebecca Ferguson that I thought I would share.

Here are 7 Fun Facts about Rebecca Ferguson star of “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation”

1) Stilettos

Rebecca plays a practical undercover agent therefore, although you see her in beautiful stilettos throughout the movie, the roof scene is the only time she actually runs in high heels.

2)  Jet Lag

While on location for the lifetime Tv Mini-Series the Red Tent, Rebecca was contacted by her agent to audition for “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation”.So,  since she was in the middle of filming, she was flown in to do her audition then flown back to return to the set within a 72 hour period

3) Stunt Double

The motorcycle scenes in “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation” are jaw dropping. However, unlike her counterpart Tom Cruise, who is notorious  for doing his own stunts. Rebecca took the safer route by letting her stunt double Jane step in to do the more dangerous scenes.

4) Vertigo

Prior to filming the movie Rebecca had to work through her fear of heights. So for a month and a half she went to training to gradually work up to being able to do a scene that required a 75 drop. They prepared for the jump by lifting her up a few meters a day in a harness.

5) Age Appropriate

Although she is not going to take her son to see “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation”. She loved that he was able to see the work done behind the scenes. As stated by Rebecca “He’ll come to set and see me strapped into something and go, ‘Can I go?’ ‘Yeah, sure. Just stay with the stunt guys. I’ll pick you up in three hours.’ I go and come back and he’s been thrown off something.”

6) Off to the Opera

The breathtaking gold dress the Rebecca wears to the opera was uniquely designed to flow just as beautifully as she walked or slide down a roof. Costume designer Joanna Johnston observed Rebecca during her stunt rehearsals to see how she jumped and twisted when she moved. So in the roof scene the slit was place on the left side since she started her jump with her left leg. In addition, the dress was made with special fabric so she would not get caught on anything as she slid down in the roof.

7) Sketch Artist

Throughout the movie, there was a brilliant sketch of Rebecca that captured every detail of her face. Sadly, she didn’t keep the drawing for herself but did  take a picture of it with her cell phone.

Story Synopsis

With the IMF disbanded, and Ethan (Tom Cruise) out in the cold, the team now faces off against a network of highly skilled special agents, the Syndicate.  These highly trained operatives are hellbent on creating a new world order through an escalating series of terrorist attacks.  Ethan gathers his team and joins forces with disavowed British agent Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson), who may or may not be a member of this rogue nation, as the group faces their most impossible mission yet.
