Recently, I was blessed to sit down with the stars of Daddy’s Home Linda Cardellini, Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. Daddy’s Home is about a mild-mannered radio executive (Ferrell) who is determined to become the best stepfather to his wife’s two children. However, he faces several obstacles when their real father (Wahlberg) arrives forcing him to compete for their affection.

-Daddys Home fun facts

The movie is hilarious, and the best comedy film I’ve seen is many years. During our interview, I discovered a few fun facts that I thought would be neat to share with you. Please feel free to share with your friends.

1 – Let’s play some B-Ball
The basketball game was one of the funniest scenes for the cast to shoot. The scene was filmed at an actually game, and the crowd had not idea it was just a performance.

“We had all the cameras in place, and we knew we only had one take, So it had this real momentum because we were doing it in real time. That was pretty fun.” ~ Will Ferrell

2 – No Sweat
Although, Mark Wahlberg is quite fit a cable was attached to give him a little assistant in the scene where he is calmly talking to Will Farro as he does a set of pull-ups, without breaking a sweat.

“I had some assistance with some of it, because obviously, to be able to do that and talk normally with no effort whatsoever.” ~ Mark Wahlberg

3 – Dance Off
In the daddy-daughter dance scene, we get to see Mark Wahlberg show of his hip hop dancing moves from his Marky Mark days. However, during the interview, he admitted that he doesn’t really enjoy dancing on camera.

“On film, I hate dancing and singing. Those are my least favorite things to do. I get a little self-conscious when it comes to that. But Will made me feel very comfortable. ” ~ Mark Wahlberg

4 – I’m the Stepdad

On a trip to La Jolla that Will Ferrell went on with four other families, one of the dad’s  admitted that they saw the Daddy’s Home Trailer and it almost made them cry. Why? Because he was a stepfather stating “That’s me; finally my story is being told.”

5 – A Childs Point of View

Although, Linda Cardellini is a new parent her insight on parenting is beautiful. She States, “I think the one thing I realized when I first became a parent is you stop seeing things from the child’s point of view, and you start seeing them from the parent’s point of view.”

Daddy’s Home In Theaters December 25.

My son and I previewed this movie and thought it was great! I also got to interview them afterwards, and Will Ferrell was hysterical! I love when interviews are so much fun!
