The past month has been a bit challenging however, Matt and I have been making the best of it by throwing little parties at home with our kids. What we do is try grab when we venture out to get groceries. This is one my favorite movie night printables that we made. It would be perfect for you and your little ones to have a movie fun movie night at home.  Today’s Story is brought to you by Orville Redenbacher’s Popcorn, However all thoughts are my own.

5 tips on how to host a movie night

Here are five tips for hosting an affordable movie night with the kids.

1) No Movie Projector: Since we did not have a movie projector, we would instead bring our TV outside for the kids to watch a movie under the stars, and lay their sleeping bags on the ground for them to get cozy on.

2) Handy Snack: I don’t like to cook on family movie nights, so making the children bagel bites is an effective alternative.

3) Don’t Forget the Drinks: Buy drinks that will suit the needs of everyone in the family. We even like to make hot cocoa when the weather is a tad colder than normal.

4) Sweet Treats: I like to buy an assortment of candies from my local dollar store and create a candy platter for the family to share. If you prefer not to serve candy, you can also make cupcakes. We created a free cupcake printable for you to use for your family movie night.

5) No Movie Is Complete Without Popcorn: I always have popcorn on hand for movie night. My family loves Orville Redenbacher’s Movie Theater Butter Popcorn. It’s easy to make and pops up in minutes, giving you a delicious, light, and fluffy snack that’s perfect anytime—especially movie night!

My favorite Popcorn party time is when I had my friends over and we spread blankets on the floor then popped some popcorn, had small bowls of candy, mini crackers, mini pretzels and and bottles of caremel and chocolate to drizzle on top our popcorn mixture. We made our own mixture to our liking and then watch the movie and enjoy.

My fondest memory with popcorn was the year we received the popcorn maker from “Santa”. Each of our 3 daughters received popcorn flavoring and my husband and I received the maker, popcorn, and oil along with our seasonings. My husband made each of us a bucket full after the kids gorged on candy from their stockings.

Back in the early days of Netflix, it was a family meeting deciding what films went into our order que. And a new release arriving in the mail was definitely family movie night – fire up the hot air popper.
Now our family movie night more often is a afternoon/evening of bingewatching a series. We still have popcorn, but it is included more in a tailgaiting event

We take turns picking out movies and we have lots of popcorn and snacks! I love movie night because i love spending time with my kids, and it’s awesome family time and we are making so many memories! A movie and popcorn AKA #Popcorn party is always memorable especially when done with my kids! I don’t have a favorite nite that stands out, I cherish them all the same. One of the few times myself and kiddos and can all sit down, enjoy each others company and no arguments between the kids! Everyone is happy and content 🙂

My favorite memory about popcorn is when my kids were little, we made the Jiffy Pop popcorn for the first time. They had always just made it in the microwave, but one day I saw it at the grocery store and bought it. I didn’t know they still made it. When it was popping up on the stove ,their little faces were so excited. After that we bought it all the time, even though it scratched up my glass top stove.

I have 2 fondest #PopcornPartyTimes, one as a child and one as an adult. As a child my mom was pregnant with my youngest brother so my dad took my brother and I to see the latest Star Wars movie (77ish) so mom could have a break. Dad bought us popcorn and even though he had a 7 & 3yo he made it a special occasion. Then when we took my oldest niece to see Charlotte’s Web. Of course we got popcorn & pop and everyone had a good time. Thank you for leading me back to these wonderful memories.

Christmas Days gone by were always spent watching movies. Each child got a new movie and we’d eat leftovers and snack on popcorn and holiday treats all.day. long after brunch. I think my all time favorite year was when my son got the Jurrasic Park movies and he was completely engrossed and wouldnt leave his seat. He still says THAT was one of his favorite childhood movies. I so miss #PopcornParty now that the 6 kids are almost grown. Now it’s just mostly the two of us with Netflix almost every night!

I use to be a foster care mother. Always having up to 12 teenagers in the home. We loved movie night. I would use 2 popcorn makers to keep the popcorn going. Then the side board was covered with topping they could use. From just hot butter to garlic butter. They would mix in pretzels or corn chips and make it their way. Then we would lay big thick blankets on the floor and they would all huddle together. The laughter was the best part.

My two youngest daughters had a big sleepover/movie marathon when one of the movies they had been waiting on came out. The guests were all awestruck that I let them throw the (air popped) popcorn at each other and have a “food fight”. It gave me coolest mom ever status and of course was no big deal at all to clean up and now, over a decade later, some of them bring up “hey, remember when you let us have that popcorn fight at your house, that was so much fun” etc etc etc. That is probably my favorite #PopcornParty memory.
