DreamWorks “The Hundred Foot Journey” starring Helen Mirren, Charlotte Le Bon, Manish Dayal is a portrayal of two worlds colliding and one young man’s drive to find the comfort of home, in every dish he creates. In July, I was blessed to attend the press junkets for The Hundred Foot Journey at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, Ca. Where we asked each star to share with us their favorite food memory. Since the move is centered around food, I thought it would be neat to share their answers with you.
Please feel free to share with your friends.
Food Is Memories
Hassan – Manish Dayal
Manish favorite memory is of his mother’s cooking as a child she made a traditional Indian rice dish that he could eat all day. However, his favorite adult meal is chicken fingers with honey mustard sauce and double crispy fries dipped in mayonnaise.
Marguerite – Charlotte Le Bon
Although Ms. Le Bon is a vegetarian, she loves her grandmother’s food and thinks it’s the best in the world. She loves the sucre à la crème (traditional fudge from Quebec Canada) her grandma makes.
Madame Mallory – Helen Mirren
Growing up her mother made signature dishes one of which was Russian cabbage pie or kulebjaka. Although most kids would think eating cabbage is horrible, Mrs. Mirren loved her mothers cabbage pies and thought they were cooked to perfection. As an adult, her favorite French dish is French Onion Soup. She likes it prepared the traditional way with French Bread and Gruyere Cheese over the top.
