When the boys were younger, Matt use to love taking them to baseball games. However, often times, I would go in complete protest. Although, I am not the biggest baseball fan that wasn’t my reason for not wanting to go. I felt like a typical baseball game just lasted too long to retain the attention of a small child. The few occasions we did attend a game, instead of spending quality time as family, our night was spent following the boys around the food court. So they could burn off extra energy.
Recently, we were invited to attend a Dodgers game by SoCal Honda. It’s been almost ten years since we attended a game. So, I thought it would be a great opportunity to check out the newly renovated park.
At first I was going to leave Joy at home, however Matt wanted Joy to experience her first baseball game. I was surprised at how family friendly the stadium has become.
When we arrived at the stadium our parking was in the generally parking area which is extremely fair away. Matt notice a golf cart picking up people from their cars and taking them to the main gate. So we asked a near by security guard how to gain access to the cart and they provided us with a number to call. The cart, which is sponsored by SoCal Honda, arrived within minutes and it had enough room for all of us. It was a relief to not have to carry Joy and our bags from where we were parked to the main gate. We were thankful that the Helpful Honda Guys where there to help.
We discovered a few kids activity pods directly outside the exit area. Inside there’s a play ground by the left field. Which Joy loved and it kept her occupied when she became restless.
Strollers are welcome at Dodger Stadium. Parents may take strollers to designated areas behind home plate (on all levels, except for Pavilions) for check-in and storage. Pavilion guests may have their strollers checked at entry gates.
The Right Field Pavilion has an all-inclusive all-you-can-eat section which serves hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, peanuts, soda and water.
We attended a Friday night game and following all Friday night home games the Dodger’s put on a spectacular firework show. So we were treated to one of the most amazing firework displays we seen in years. Although fans are welcome to sit on the outfield grass to watch the show. We were blessed to have tickets behind the home plate. Therefore we just moved down a few room and enjoyed the fireworks.
The newly renovate Dodgers Stadium was to perfect pace for use to enjoy a baseball game as a family. We plan on attending more next season.
