Matt and I considered homeschooling our daughter Joy since the day she was born. We wanted to have control over what she would learn and wanted her to have a more enriched learning experience. At first, we were a little bit apprehensive about moving forward with this idea, but after checking out a few schools, we decided to take the leap.

The first month of her homeschooling was really brutal for us until we discovered her learning style. Joy is a kinesthetic learner which means she likes to learn by completing hands-on activities, so we started thinking of creative kinesthetic ways to teach her.
Recently, we took a trip to Wal-Mart and decided to incorporate a counting lesson into the visit. As we walked down the aisles, we had Joy count the items we put in our cart. That counting lesson went well. When we arrived at the cookie and cracker aisle, she automatically noticed Teddy Grahams new “TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks”. Since Joy loved the “TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks”, I thought it would to turn our snack time into an additional kinesthetic math lesson.
This week in our homeschooling lessons we are teaching Joy how to count to 10. We’ve been having trouble with Joy remembering the number order of 4, 5 and 6. During her snack time, we encouraged her to count. Since Joy enjoyed both eating and counting the “TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks” packs, snack time became a fun, simple, and successful way for us to help her reinforce her counting skills. You should give it a try.
Check out this cute video of Joy counting and her responses to how “TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks” taste.
“TEDDY SOFT BAKED Filled Snacks” are a loveable bear-shaped snack made with quality ingredients such as milk, eggs, and chocolate. Matt and I are very picky about the type of and amount of snacks that we give Joy, so the fact that they contain no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors, and no artificial colors made them our new go-to snacks when we are on the road. Joy loves these yummy vanilla filled snacks.

I want to applaud you on taking up the reigns in your daughter’s education and homeschooling her. It’s more than a notion. Joy is one lucky little girl.

I am glad that you are finding out your daughters learning style. Homeschooling is an interesting topic for me, I was homeschooled for the majority of my life and wish I hadn’t been. But I know some amazing people who were homeschooled and it can be a wonderful thing. Find a local group and do your best and you’ll be amazing at it!

Finding out what learning style your daughter is is essential. I’m a kinesthetic learner myself and many of my young students were too when I was teaching school. Your daughter is a cutie!
I’m sure a lot of kids her age would love these teddy graham snacks too. I like that there are no artificial ingredients.

I think homeschooling is such a great idea. My niece was homeschooled and she tore down all of our apprehensions about it. She is now a junior in college and always maintains that homeschooling was such a great experience that she wouldn’t trade for anything.

Those snacks are awesome. I really admire parents who homeschool their kids. I think I can never pull it off. It’s really nice that you cater to your child’s learning curve.

I’ve always wondered how parents are able to have the patience to homeschool their children because it takes a lot of work beyond the normal parenting tasks. I have heard that homeschooling has evolved to the point where parents take on different subjects so kids get to socialize as well as learn at home.

I love how you are incorporating tasks and activities in your homeschooling. It is a great way to make lessons tangible in the real world.

Oh I don’t envy you homeschooling! We don’t have kids and I don’t know how people manage to find the time.

you know we felt the same way but… When we saw our current choices of school and what going on in the county we decided it was the better option.
