We would like to thank our Fan Amy Hall Settlemyer for giving us the Answer to this Problem :).
Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, then Subtraction. 6/2 x (1+2)=? Do what is in parenthesis first- 1+2=3 so now you have 6/2 x (3). No exponents so move onto multiplication. 2×3=6. So now you have 6/6 which equals 1.
Did you Guess the Right Answer? Lets us know in the comments below.

You are correct, Annette. The answer is, indeed, 9. The answer in the blog post is incorrect. The order of operations is: Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication AND Division from left to right, Addition AND Subtraction from left to right.
With that in mind, you complete the problem within the parenthesis to get 6/2(3). With no exponents, you then complete the multiplication from left to right. 6/2(3)=3(3)=9

Except that I’m wrong. ROFL I completely ignored/forgot the fact that you have to get rid of all parentheses first. In that case, 1 is correct. OY!! Hey, I can admit when I’m wrong. ;D
