Every since I previewed Disney/Pixar’s new movie Inside Out in January, I couldn’t wait to see the full film. It truly was a blessing to receive an invite to the #InsideOutEvent that included attending the Red Carpet, I mean Purple Carpet Premiere of Inside Out. I was able to attend this event because Disney/Pixar, Disney Channel, and Disney XD sent me to Los Angeles on an all-expenses-paid press trip, in exchange for my coverage of this and others events, all opinions are my own.
As I stepped onto the Purple Carpet, I felt like I was entering a world of imagination that only a Disney Premiere can capture. The Los Angeles Premiere at the El Capitan Theatre included a party that was filled with activities and food inspired by the movies.
After the cast arrived, (Amy Poehler (Joy), Mindy Kaling (Disgust), Bill Hader (Fear), Phyllis Smith (Sadness)) and other members of the film, they took a fun group picture at the control panel from the movie that was on display at the at the entrance of the party.
One of my favorite parts or the premiere were the cupcakes provided by Fernanda Abarca Cakes. And yes the cupcakes tasted as incredible as they looked.
Before I joined in on the fun activities, I was blessed to meet Rob Riggles. You may know him for his role as Mr. Walters in 21 Jump Street. He has also made appearances on the tv series Modern Family (Gil Thorpe) and New Girl (Big Schmidt).
The party included activities influenced by the different islands inside of Riley’s head. There were tons of activities for families to enjoy. My favorites included Hockey Island, where you could score a few goals and Family Island; where you could make family tree portraits souvenir using your hands. I also received a free Snackeez Cup Snack Cup, which was awesome since, I’ve wanted to try these with Joy.

After seeing the film, we ended the night with a late night dinner at Mel’s dinner. Below is a short slideshow of the moments I cherish most at the premiere. I thank Disney for inviting me to the Inside Out Purple Carpet Premiere.

Movie Synopsis
The movie brings you inside the mind of Riley, a pre-teen, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job, in San Francisco. Like most people, Riley is driven by emotions of Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith), as she has to adjust to a new neighborhood. The movie provides a unique perspective on the emotions that live in the control center inside Riley’s mind.
