We all know Alec Baldwin as a straight to the business guy in most of the roles he plays, so if you’re familiar with ‘The Boss Baby’ ( comes out March 31st ) and Alec Baldwin, then you know this is nothing short of a match made in heaven. The Boss Baby is a great viewing option for your family on a fun night out, and I had an interview with Alec Baldwin way back in the Summer of 2016. During this interview, Alec, myself, and a small room of others all talked a little bit about our families, and Alec expressed how he thinks The Boss Baby will affect others.
Allow me to share a few of the things we gathered from that interview!
During our interview, Alec talked about how he’s had a lot more focus on his family rather than work, here’s exactly what was said.
“Choosing family over work has kind of become a real theme in my life. And my agent will call me and say, ‘Bob so-and-so called. We’re going to go make a movie with Bob so-and-so or Tom so-and-so or Susan so-and-so.’ And I’ll say, ‘I’m not going to work. I’m going to stay home.’ Because I gave my wife my word that when she’s pregnant, I’m there for that last trimester. And it’s easy. I don’t view it as, oh, I’m patting myself on the back or it’s some big sacrifice. I just can’t do it. My daughter is home, and every day now something comes out of her mouth that we just sit there and look at each other and go, ‘Oh my gosh.'”
Alec also talked about a notebook he fills out for his daughter, here’s more on that.
Alec: “Every week, I write something to each of my kids in the book about, ‘Today, you did this,’ and, ‘Today, you did that.’ It was an idea someone gave me. And with my daughter, Carmen, I wrote, ‘I don’t even know where to begin. You did three things yesterday that I, etc.’ and we have to stop that addiction. My wife and I have gotten smarter about letting it just happen in real life and not having to video every moment of the child. Because you do get into this addiction where you’re wanting to film her singing or playing or something, rather than just being and not having the phone in your hand. So we’ve done a lot better at that.”
Further along the interview, Alec talked about how he and his older sister ran the house to help his mother.
“I lived in a large family where my mother didn’t have any help, so my older sister and I were kind of like the staff of the house. We cooked and cleaned and raked the leaves and shoveled the snow and took out the garbage and walked the dogs. And my other three brothers were like hillbillies on a porch. They just kind of sat there. I go take out the garbage, and they were like, ‘You got that? Did you get it? Oh, okay. Okay.’ They were not the most domesticated people in the world, so I guess, in that sense, I was Boss Baby in my house regarding productivity.”
This concludes most of the notable things said during the interview. Boss Baby rolls into theaters March 31st so try not to miss it. We hope this post was a good read for you all!
Until Next Time
