Disney’s latest animated short fixes everyone’s itch for the beloved characters in the world of Frozen with Olaf’s Frozen Adventure. Personally, I thought the short was a lot of fun and did a great job at reminding us how important’s of family traditions.
Hosted by Walt Disney Studios
In my family, we have several Christmas traditions that I look forward to every year, so seeing Olaf search far and wide to find Christmas traditions for Anna and Elsa’s warmed my heart. Throughout the short we see Olaf going door to door collecting family holiday traditions from the residents of Arendelle, so he can share them with his friends.
It made me think, if Olaf showed up at my doorstep, I would’ve given him some hot cocoa, blankets, and the keys to my parent’s car because my family likes to drive around and look at Christmas lights on Christmas Eve. In addition, I would ask him if he would stay for dinner so he could try the amazing seafood and chicken enchiladas my mom makes every year for Christmas.
Since Holiday traditions were the general topic of the short, it was nice hearing what Josh Gad ( Olaf )thought The #1 lesson kids will learn from Olaf’s Frozen Adventure.
Here is The #1 Lesson Kids Will Learn from Olaf’s Frozen Adventure
“I would love. . . Um, it’s funny because these holidays are so wonderfully rich with memories for me growing up that I had during the holidays. Holidays, in general, have become really commercialized. There is a lot about the holidays that is driven by I got to go shopping, I got to go do this and I got to go do that. This movie I hope is an emotional reminder of the bond of family and… we sort of can’t go anywhere because everything is closed, and we’re all in a room together… That to me is the power of Olaf’s Frozen Adventure it is about traditions but it’s more than that it’s about family and I love that and I hope that my girls when they see it they start to think about the traditions that they want to make with each other.” – Josh Gad
In addition to the amazing lesson, kids will learn the soundtrack is beautiful and many of the songs are sure to become traditional Christmas songs that we listen to each year. Our favorite from the soundtrack is “When We’re Together” (From “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure”/Audio Only)
