When you hear a song sung in a cute, high-pitched tone, you’ll most likely think of Alvin and the Chipmunks. If you’re a fan of Christmas songs, chances are you’ve heard Alvin and the gang sing about their hopes of achieving the coveted hula-hoop. The legend of Alvin and the Chipmunks has lived on for decades, having won multiple awards including a couple of Grammys. Now, I won’t describe the entire history of the chipmunks to you, but I will tell you what I thought of Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip.
Somehow, I managed to watch every single movie in the chipmunk series, and out of them all, I found this one the most intriguing to watch. At this point in the series, it’s obvious that the Chipmunks have a great singing ability, and the Chipettes have gradually risen to stardom surpassing the Chipmunks. Because of this, we get to dive into a more narrative-driven movie rather than a film flooded in high-pitched singing scenes. The Chipmunks are in crisis when they find out that Dave might be getting engaged to a woman whose son isn’t the kindest to them, and because of the mutual hatred for each other, they decide to go on a road trip to stop the supposed engagement.
I was surprised at how more and more my interest grew the further I progressed into the film. To be honest, I didn’t think much of the movie before I watched it, but now it’s my favorite film of December (besides the one with lightsabers). The biggest message I received from the movie was that family is family, no matter their shape or size or how they look, and that spoke to me being that my family is interracial. My family and I found ourselves laughing a lot throughout the film and the air marshal played by Tony Hale in the movie stole the show. Every scene he was in was hilarious.
I would recommend going to your nearest movie theater to see this film with your family or loved one. This movie is something we haven’t seen before in the Chipmunk series because not only is it hilarious, but the message is outstanding.

My Granddaughter and i watch the show everyday during our drink of the day (Hot Cocoa or Chocolate Milk Cold) and Cookie Break. I personally love the characters and how they are illustrated. My favorite is Theodore. Bella’s is Alvin.
