When the boys were little, I didn’t realize how important it was to take time for the family. Therefore, I don’t remember their first steps, what their favorite characters were, or when they said their first words. Thank goodness Matt was a stay-at-home father, and he was able to keep me updated.
Therefore, from the day my daughter was born, I made a commitment to schedule out time for my family. Now on a Friday night you may find us playing video games, hanging out around the dinner table talking or hosting a family movie night.
For our family movie night, we sometimes rent videos or go to the theaters. However, what I love to do the most is take the kids to watch a movie under the stars during the summer. However, no matter if we are at home or the park, we like to have a bag of Orville Redenbacher’s Popcorn. It’s our go-to microwave popcorn, and I actually keep a box on hand in our home so the kids can have it for a snack too.
I was blessed to take Joy to see a movie in the park for the first time, and she loved it. When we arrived, for the US Weekly Family Movie Night event at The Grove, there were blankets lying on the ground so families could pick where they want to sit, and the weather was beautiful. It was a perfect night to spend time with the family.
Although my family date night was short, I cherished every moment. I loved being able to enjoy a movie under the stars while snacking on some delicious popcorn and watching Joy’s excitement as she viewed the movie.
Life can get so busy, but I urge you to take time to schedule a movie night with your little ones and, of course, don’t forget the popcorn.

Family Movie Night is a great idea, especially with Orville’s popcorn (my favorite). Thank you for sharing!
