Survey says, is a phrase that is etched in my mind. Growing up, it was a weekly tradition for my mother and me to watch Family Feud Hosted by Richard Dawson. As part of the Inside Out Event, I was blessed to participate in a live recording and tour the set of the Celebrity Family Feud.
“Celebrity FamilyFeud” premieres on Sunday, June 21 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on the ABC Television Network. If you are a long time fan of FamilyFeud, you are going to this new primetime series. “Celebrity Family Feud” takes the fun to a whole new level in all six-episode of this special series. Hosted, of course, by the multitalented Steve Harvey, you will certainly be entertained as you watch him pit celebrities against each other in a contest to name the most popular responses to a survey-type question posed to 100 people. The winning team will be given a chance to win up to $25,000 to donate to a charity of their choice.
They have a great line of stars we all love, I attended the live recording of Ed Asner – 7-Time Emmy Award winning (“The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” “Lou Grant,” “Up” )VS. Vicki Lawrence – Emmy Award-winning comedienne best-known for her part in the legendary cast of the “Carol Burnett Show. Although, I can’t tell you who one, both stars answers were extremely funny.
My Set Visit:
I have always dreamed of standing on the set and competing with another family on the FamilyFued. It was amazing being able to actually stand behind the podium that I’ve seen constant stand behind for so many years.
I was amazed at everything that goes into a filming the show and the survey sign was much bigger than I imagined. What’s more, I was surprised to learn there were actual judges that site right at the front of the stages. They are the ones that help the host decide if an answer to a question is correct or not.
What I love most about my set visit was being able to stand at the contestant table and touching the buzzed. After having this experience, my desire to compete on the show has increased. Now if it is God’s will I am sure it will happen.
Out of the six episodes airing below are a few that I can not wait to see battle it out for their favorite charities.
Anthony Anderson – executive producer and star of ABC’s hit comedy series “black-ish,” playing for the Watts/Willowbrook Boys & Girls Club
against Toni Braxton – The 7-time Grammy Award-winning artist and actress’ team includes her sisters and stars of WE tv’s hit series “Braxton Family Values,” playing for Lupus LA.
Next up, Team captain Monica Potter, Golden Globe-nominated actress (“Parenthood,” “Con Air,” “Patch Adams,” and “Saw”) playing for the Jean Marie House. Against Curtis Stone, Australian celebrity chef, author and television personality, playing for Creative Visions.
I was blessed to see the taping of the season Finally that airs tonight below are some clips from the show.
