Summer vacation is finally here, which means it is time to start planning activities that will keep the kids busy, such as finding summer movies for kids.
This summer is very special for On the Scene with Mrs. Kathy King. I am excited to let you know I’ll be getting an inside look at 3 great kids summer movies from Disney. Disney/ Pixar “Inside Out” in Theaters June 19
In January, I was blessed to receive a sneak peek at Disney Inside Out, but I did not see the whole film. Therefore, I am thrilled to be attending the Red Carpet Premiere of INSIDE OUT at the El Capitan Theatre.
Before the movie, I get to interview Kyle MacLachlan who voices the Dad in INSIDE OUT! Kyle is known for his roles in Desperate Housewives, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Good Wife, Law and Order and my favorite 90’s show Twin Peaks; which I’ve been currently rewatching on HULU. I will also find out more about INSIDE OUT partnership with Disney Infinity 3.0 and preview the new INSIDE OUT toy line from Disney Consumer Products.
The movie brings you inside the mind of Riley. A pre-teen, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job, in San Francisco. Like most people, Riley is driven by emotions of Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith), as she has to adjust to a new neighborhood. The movie provides a unique perspective on the emotions that live in, the control center inside Riley’s mind.
Teen Beat 2 premieres June 26 on Disney Channel
My family watches Austin and Ally all of the time. So I am looking forward to seeing an advance screening of the movie. After the film, I get to participate in a Q+A and receive a choreography lesson from Chrissie Fit (“Pitch Perfect 2”) aka CheeChee and Jordan Fisher (Hollywood Records recording artist) aka Seacat.
Get ready to go back to the beach in Disney Channel Teen Beach 2! A Disney Channel original movie sequel, starring Ross Lynch from Austin and Ally and the music group R5. The movie will also be available on DVD with never-before-seen dance rehearsal bonus feature.
PHINEAS AND FERB’s “Last day of Summer” June 12th on Disney XD
Summertime is the perfect time for a picnic. So of course we will be having a picnic with Dan, Swampy, and Phineas & Ferb themselves! Following the advance screening “Phineas and Ferb” episode titled “Last Day of Summer”, I will also be interviewing the Creators and Executive Producers Dan Povenmire & Jeff “Swampy” Marsh.
In the one-hour “Phineas and Ferb” episode titled “Last Day of Summer,” the summer season is coming to a close, and it’s Candace’s last chance to bust her brothers. She is quickly foiled, but is presented with an opportunity to redo the day when she sets off Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s Do-Over-Inator, which results in other consequences like rips in the space-time continuum, the shortening of days and the disappearance of her brothers.
Before, the movie catch up on Phineas and Ferb and spend the day watching their Last Day of Summer marathon.
