Disney/ Pixar “Inside Out” opens in Theaters June 19, 2015. I was blessed to have an opportunity to participate in a press junket for the movie this month. During the interview, I learned some fun facts about the cast that I wanted to share with you.
Here are 7 Fun Facts about the Cast of Inside Out:

1) Giant Fan:
Director Pete Docter and Producer Jonas Rivera asked Bill Hader (Fear) if they could visit the SNL set to gain a better understanding of how a live television cast works. Since he is a huge Pixar fan, Mr. Hader was more than happy to host them. As a thank you, they asked Bill to visit Pixar Studios and eventually offered him the part of Fear.
2) In Character
When asked if they could play another emotion what would it be, Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, Phyllis Smith and Mindy Kaling all choose the role of Anger, played by Lewis Black. Although Lewis’s role as Anger suits him perfectly, if he could pick another emotion it would be Disgust.
3) Mommy’s Little Girl
Mindy Kaling’s core memory was about a time she spent with her mother, who was an OB/GYN. As a child, she was very competitive about spending time with her mom, without your baby brother. One day her mother came home from work after doing a 24-hour shift at the hospital with jelly doughnut from Dunkin Donuts. She had never seen a jelly doughnut. So as she sat on her mom’s lap, in the kitchen sharing a doughnut, all she could remember was how wonderful it was to have her mom’s undivided attention.
4) Girl Power
When Amy Poehler is not on camera, she can be found working diligently with young girls through her organization Smart Girls. Smart Girls is an online web show and community for young girls that encourages bright girls to volunteer, be more involved in the world they live in, and to expand their worldview beyond their backyards.
5) Costume Party
Bill Hader loved Disney’s version of Ichabod Crane so much he dress up like him for Halloween four years in a row!
6) Hidden Island
If the stars of Inside Out could share some of the Islands hidden in their heads, Amy Poehler’s would be Thousand Island, Fantasy Island, and Kitchen Island. Lewis Black’s would be Skull Island, Bill Hader’s Treasure Island, Phyllis Smith, Baseball Island and of course Mindy Kaling would be Role Model Island and Good Sleep Island.
7) Stuck in my Head
Bill Hader’s daughter is currently learning how to play “Hot Cross Buns” on the piano; although Bill and his wife love hearing her play the song, it is now stuck in their heads.
Mindy grew up in the Boston area, and she can’t seem to get the giggle for the Boston Herald out of her mind.

Movie Synopsis
The movie brings you inside the mind of Riley, a pre-teen, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like most people, Riley is driven by emotions of Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith), as she has to adjust to a new neighborhood. The movie provides a unique perspective on the emotions that live in the control center inside Riley’s mind.
