5 Things You Can Do With Empty Cardboard Rolls

Children have the best imaginations and you don’t truly realise it until you have them and you watch them play properly. When you watch your kids play with a wooden play kitchen, you can marvel at their ability to copy what you do in the kitchen. But there are the simple things that can help them bring out their imagination – such as empty cardboard rolls from the centre of toilet paper

Don’t be too quick to discard empty cardboard rolls! They may seem like mere remnants of toilet paper or paper towels, but these cardboard tubes are treasure troves of creativity. Here are some inventive things to do with empty cardboard tubes that’ll turn into fun projects for you and your family.

1. Create Storage Solutions

Empty cardboard rolls are excellent tools for organization. Gather a few and get started on designing desk organizers or drawer separators.

Cut the rolls into the desired lengths and decorate them with paint or fabric to create a lovely cable storage solution that keeps your cords tidy. I like to use them in my home office; they offer clever ways to conceal network cables and make the space look more put together, even on hectic days.

2. Craft Beautiful DIY Decorations

Entertaining at home is something most of us take pride in, and adding a few handmade touches makes all the difference. Cardboard rolls are incredibly versatile; with a few supplies and a dash of creativity, you’ll transform them into stunning art pieces that will leave your guests in awe.

Whether it’s a centerpiece for a special occasion or charming wall art for your home office, there are endless possibilities to explore. To really wow your guests, experiment with intricate patterns and bold colors. Remember, your DIY creations are a reflection of your personality!

3. Turn Cardboard Rolls Into Educational Toys

Keeping your kids entertained and engaged is a challenge as a busy mompreneur. Fortunately, I have some ideas for things to do with your empty cardboard tubes.

Turn them into mini-telescopes, ramps for toy cars, or a fun rocket race game. These DIY toys inspire creativity, teach kids about art, and help them develop fine motor skills while saving you money on store-bought toys!

4. Make Eco-friendly Seed Starters

Gardening is an ancient hobby and for a good reason. It can lower stress levels and encourage a growth mindset. If you’ve been planning to start your garden, don’t throw away those cardboard rolls just yet! They can be eco-friendly seed starters for your seedlings.

Trim the rolls to size, fill them with soil and seeds, and place them in a sunny spot. A gardening project is a great pastime for active kids in the summer, and the use of a simple cardboard tube inspires them to think outside the box, or cylinder in this case!

5. Develop Your Photography Skills

Natural light plays a vital role in photography. Cardboard rolls can become DIY light filters and snoots. This nifty hack enhances contrast and creates fascinating effects without expensive equipment. Get experimental with your cardboard roll photography tools, and maybe you’ll find your next big passion or a new direction for your marketing images.

Empty cardboard rolls may not seem like much, but with your ingenuity, they have great potential! Use these cost-effective solutions for everyday challenges, flex your creative muscles, and explore exciting new opportunities one tube at a time.
