I need to be honest and sincere. At first, I wasn’t so enthusiastic about playing Disney Infinity 3.0 because I usually play other games when I’m not writing for you lovely people. But now, those other games need to be dusted off. I cannot stop playing this game guys. I find it fascinating that I, a young man who’s about to be 18, is up at night playing with Inside Out characters until his eyes shut. Disney’s virtual toy box doesn’t limit any age-group. The game itself has so much content and lasts so long, I’m sure there are hundreds of reasons why you’ll love it that even I am not sure of.
Let’s get into it!
1) Put Your Toys In Your Console: This is probably the main thing that makes Disney Infinity 3.0 great. When I was younger, I used to tell my brother I wish my Optimus Prime or John Cena action figures could come to life. And even though they all did the same thing, I still thought Optimus had the edge, and he needed an entourage. So of course I had to make the green power ranger his bestie. Any who, Disney Infinity 3.0 made that happen for me, except with Disney characters I grew up with like Woody and Buzz, but it’s surprisingly personal and nostalgic.
2) The New Toys To Play With: Disney Infinity has come a long way and has only gotten better as the months gone by. When I was playing with my toys, there were no limitations to how they would interact based on their brand. 3.0 offers a world where Han Solo, Iron Man, and Mickey Mouse can become friends on your television. With a vast amount of characters from Star Wars, Marvel, and Disney, there has to be a character that someone in your family can appreciate. My favorites consist of basically everyone from Inside Out because they’re fun to use. And of course, Darth Vader deserves a shout out.
3) Sidekicks Come Into Play: While inside of free play, you’re introduced to many minor Disney characters that will join you on your journeys. My first sidekick happened to be Mabel from Gravity Falls, and it happened just as I thought to myself ‘What about all of the other characters who appear in Disney cartoon series?’ Well, there’s room for them in this expansive world as well. My Mabel sidekick is currently trudging around in her Trojan helmet, and she kicks butt.
4) Create The World Of Your Dreams: As you complete missions and quests, you earn currency that you can use to buy things to customize, and decorate your massive worlds. For the amount of time you invest in the game, it does reward you greatly and trust me, that’s been a rare occasion in many of the games I’ve played. As I’m creating my world, I feel like I’m inching closer to the world I imagined for my toys as a little boy. My only limitations back then were the lack of funds and shelf space. Trust me, I wanted every play set on Earth, even if they were duplicates. But with Disney Infinity 3.0, there doesn’t seem to be any limitations, and I can be that 9-year-old boy again, surging with imagination and creativity. I’m glad the game doesn’t dictate how you and your family builds your own worlds, and the satisfaction after figuring it out for yourself, has made it that much more rewarding.
5) It’s The Most Family-Oriented Game In The Market: Yep, I said it. I’ve played my fair share of games. I’ve been playing them for 15 years now, and I have not come across a video game as family oriented as Disney 3.0. Anyone can play this with no difficulty whatsoever because it’s simple, fun, and addicting! Watching TV as a family hasn’t been nearly as fun as playing our favorite Star Wars characters as a family. Having a game console has become a household item, and it’s rare when you hear of a home that doesn’t have one.
Dad works long shifts, mom is putting her everything into her fourth child that happens to be this site, and my brother and I have school. When it’s time to escape and relax as a unit, 3.0 has been the go to. And frankly, there aren’t many other games on the market that satisfy everyone in the family. I’m excited to experience more characters as 3.0 expands, and I enjoy the friendly debates amongst the fam when it comes to which character is the best to use in the game. Gaming is frowned upon in the wrong audiences, and the common stereotype for all gamers is that they are unsocial people who aren’t capable of conversations with other human beings. That is simply not true. Games create friendships, and this game, in particular, can produce multiple bonding experiences amongst families all across the U.S.
By the way, Mom, Vader is clearly the best figure to use. He’s Darth Vader.
Until Next Time!
