I adore my Lil Diva, after all, God didn’t bless us with her until we were married for almost 20 years. Although we have two beautiful boys, I longed for a little girl so that we could do little girl stuff together, like go shopping, play with dolls, have tea parties together and put cute pigtails in her hair. Today’s helpful tips are sponsored by Just for me by Soft & Beautiful; all opinions are my own.
To My surprise, she strongly dislikes getting her hair done. At first, it did not bother me; I figured it was just a stage. . . It wasn’t. When she started school, every morning was the same routine. She loved selecting her outfit and picking out which accessories she was going to wear. However, when it came time to do her hair, that was when the war of wills begins. In order, make it easier for both of us, I started a new routine that I thought I would share with you.
Here’s 3 Quick & Easy Hair Styling Tips for Mixed Kids
Tip 1) Do it the Night Before
I started doing Joy’s hair right after she takes a bath. I found that it relaxes her and it saves me about 30 minutes of time for us in the morning. Sure, I may have to do a little touch-up, but that only take about 5 to 10 minutes tops. During bath time, one the days I wash her hair I use Just For Me Detangling Creamy Co-wash, it conditions her hair without stripping it of its’ natural oils. Plus, it rinses out quickly and leaves her hair soft and tangle free.
Tip 2 ) Condition Daily
After I wash and towel dry hair, I use Just For Me Creamy Butter Moisturizer, to keep it hydrated and it helps with styling, too. On the days I do not wash her hair, I use Just For Me Nourishing Leave-in Conditioner, it keeps her little curls conditioned and it perfect for daily detangling.
Tip 3 ) Keep It Heat Free
One last tip, I think Shirley Temple curls are so cute on her. In the past, I would have to use a curling iron to achieve the perfect curl because he hair was just too frizzy. However, now I style it the night before using Just For Me Moisture-Rich Styling Smoothie, it helps with styling her hair and I can curl her hair with my finger, instead of using a curling iron. In the morning she wakes up with frizzy free curls.
I am thankful that I discovered the Just for Me haircare line for kids. Before using this product line, I tried other detanglers and moisturizers on her hair, but they honestly did not work as well for me. Although, my daughter, Joy still fusses a bit when it is time for me to do her hair, it now much easier, especially if I do the tips listed above.
