I hadn’t seen the first Nut Job movie with AJ, so we were unsure of what exactly this one would be about? We were in store for some major laughs that day as we meet with the cast for a mini press junket before screening the film.  It was a delight to see how the cast interacted with one another as if they had been lifelong friends.

Which is basically what this movie The Nut Job 2, nutty by nature is about, friendship. In NUT JOB 2, Surly Squirrel (Will Arnett) and the gang are back. We are once again in Oakton where the evil mayor has decided to bulldoze Liberty Park and build a dangerous amusement park in its place. Surly and his ragtag group of animal friends band together to save their home, defeat the mayor, and take back the park. NUT JOB 2 also features the voice talent of Katherine Heigl (The Nut Job), Jackie Chan (Kung Fu Panda 3), Peter Stormare (Penguins of Madagascar), Bobby Cannavale (Ant-Man), Isabela Moner (Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life), and Maya Rudolph (The Angry Birds Movie).

Here are 3 lessons Kid will learn from The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature

Lesson 1: Friends look out for each other.
Life seems easier for Surly and friends in the Nut Job 2, yet things quickly go from good to bad when an explosion at the Nut store occurs, Surly and his friends suddenly have no home or food. Andie the squirrel voiced by Katherine Heigl steps up to lead the other animals and lets them know they will be just fine as long as they work together.

Lesson 2: Team work makes the dream work.
When the mayor of Oakton City, voiced by Bobby Moynihan, decides to tear down Liberty park and make a faulty amusement park in its place. The animals quickly realize although they are small in stature they make up for it in mass group size and by working together they can accomplish the goal of defeating the mayor.

Lesson 3: Sometimes it’s ok to admit we need help with something. When Surly realizes he needs help in the fight against the mayor he admits that he can’t do it on his own. Surly goes and seeks out Mr. Feng a cute mouse voiced by Jackie Chan. We quickly learn this mouse is terroristic and don’t you dare call him cute either.  I do have to admit that Mr. Feng is my favorite character in this movie.

This movie was as action packed as it was funny. I would definitely recommend you see this with your kids.
